Marissa + Jake's 70's Mountain Wedding
Marissa and Jake’s colorful Fraser, Colorado wedding is a great example of a carefully curated wedding that perfectly reflects the couple. Her advice to couples planning their wedding is to “do it your own way!”: advice she absolutely took to heart when designing her wedding. When shopping for her gown, Marissa said she "wanted to look like a 70’s Pocahontas,” which she perfectly achieved in the most stylish and chic way! We can’t get enough of how her bridal look goes with her incredible turquoise jewelry. She paired a Lis Simon a-line tulle skirt with a beateau neckline 3/4 length sleeve lace topper by Amy Kuschel.
Congratulations to Marissa and Jake!

LWD: Tell us a little about your gown shopping experience. What were you looking for in a dress and how did you narrow it down to your favorites?
Marissa: I was looking for something really specific and absolutely found it. I was looking for a unique, full skirt, subtle lace that would pair well with turquoise for my cabin wedding. My goal was to be a 70's Pocahontas.
LWD: How did you end up deciding on your wedding dress? What did you love most about your dress?
Marissa: I loved how the two pieces went together so well. I loved that LWD offered multiple options of price and style while still having different pieces. I ultimately picked my wedding dress because i think it went with the theme of the wedding.
LWD: What was your favorite part of your wedding?
Marissa: My favorite part of the wedding was seeing our family come together and doing it our own way. My husband and I kept traditional aspects of weddings but changed up a few other things that stayed true to who we are as couple.
LWD: Do you have any advice for brides going through the process of finding their wedding dress?
Marissa: Do it your own way!
