A Decade of LWD!
Today marks the 10 year anniversary of Little White Dress!
We are so humbled and proud to reach this incredible milestone!
Our fearless owner, Cate Malone, reflects back on 10 adventurous and amazing years:
Dear Brides and the Colorado bridal industry, I am filled with many happy and amazing memories and much gratitude as Little White Dress Bridal Shop celebrates our 10 year anniversary this January 5, 2018. We incorporated in April, 2007, signed our first lease in Castle Rock in October, 2007, and opened our doors to our first brides on January 5, 2008. Failure was not an option, mediocrity was not an option. A bride from Ft. Collins found her perfect wedding gown with me that first day we opened, and I remember calling my husband at the end of the day crying with happiness. As with most small businesses, the first three years were very difficult financially but it was an incredible learning opportunity. I still remember many of our brides and their families from that time period, and they were the most kind, genuine, and appreciative people I’d ever met. Despite the financial worries, everything was so exciting, passionate, and joyful. Our move from Castle Rock to the upper Highlands neighborhood in Denver in January, 2011 brought the next phase of LWD which was a phase of exceptional growth and success – thank goodness! It was a huge relief to be able to celebrate our 3 year anniversary, and then our 5 year anniversary. I thought our Highlands location would be our forever home, but by the end of our 5 years there, we needed more room for our customers, for our inventory, and especially for our growing staff. We truly have found our forever home in our current location that we moved into in January of 2016. It is a magnificent and beautifully restored 100 year old former church and community center in the River North/Curtis Park neighborhood just north of downtown Denver (originally built by a woman!). Even though we’ve already been here 2 years, each day I still can’t believe we were fortunate enough to find such a special one-of-a-kind location. We absolutely love the beautiful space our brides get to experience, with tons of natural light and windows that open!
And the learning, the drive to be the best we can be, the excitement, passion and joy continue...
THANK YOU for supporting me and the efforts of my incredibly valued management team and staff these past 10 years. Thank you for believing in us. It has been quite a journey. We are absolutely honored to be part of such a special time in a woman’s life, and we are honored to be part of the exceptional bridal community here in Colorado. My best wishes to you for very happy holidays, and cheers to many more lovely LWD years!
