John + Angela's January Evergreen Wedding

John and Angela woke up on their January wedding day to a fresh dusting of snow, clearing skies and a visit from two dozen elk outside their window. They married at the historic Old Evergreen Hotel, which sits above Little Bear and Muddy Buck in their home of Evergreen, Colorado. (And amazingly enough, theirs was the first modern-day wedding to be held in the historic, Gold Rush era hotel, which was built in the late 1890’s!) Despite the chilly winter day, John and Angela’s wedding day was a warm family affair filled with laughter, new memories and a few happy tears.

John and Angela’s wedding holds a special place in our hearts, as John is the son of LWD’s owner, Cate, and the brother of LWD’s Creative Director, Kelly. We were overjoyed to welcome Angela to our family and to celebrate their beautiful wedding together.

Angela fell in love with the Voyage gown by Claire Pettibone. Made of the finest French embroidery, the illusion bodice features fitted long sleeves and a beautiful back. The corded lace skirt flows gracefully from the fitted waist, and features a crinoline underskirt for a dramatic silhouette. Claire Pettibone made a matching couture dress and faux fur shawl for Kelly’s daughter Annabelle, Angela and John’s one-year-old flower girl. (And she may just be the luckiest one-year-old in the world!)

Angela topped her gown with a beaded veil from Malis Henderson and a rose gold Maria Elena headpiece with Grey Opal, Golden Shadow Swarovski Crystal, and Pearl Blossoms.

John and Angela practice a vegan lifestyle and it was important to them to have a strictly vegan wedding, from the food to the decorations to the attire and everything in between. Angela customized her Claire Pettibone gown to have a silk-free lining, and John was lucky enough to have a custom vegan suit made by the gentlemen at Bespoke Edge.

John and Angela, we love you and wish we could re-live your wedding day over and over! Thank you for sharing your love and lives with us!
